How to Count to 10 in Japanese for Karate

In our program and many other Shotokan Karate schools, we count to 10 in Japanese for various things. For example stretching, strengthening exercises and drills. It’s important to learn to count to 10 in Japanese as you progress through the ranks. The above video shows how this is done, but we have it written below as well.

Shi (or yon) (four)

Go (five)

Roku (six)

Shichi (or nana) (seven)
